Ok guys there are 2 problems. First, I just changed the oil, and the fuel/water seperator to start the new year. The motor has 207 hrs. It has a slight knock comming from the right (facing the boat) upper head area. It stops sometimes but it always seems to be there when i start it up.

Second problem is after comming down from a rev(out of water) to 3500 rpm it shakes and makes a sound almost like you're putting it in gear... I believe its the lower unit. Is that normal when you run it out of the water? (I do have water hooked up before someone asks)

Thanks in advance!

Im no expert.but i dont think its a good idea to rev the engine that high out of water especially in gear!if thats what your talking about the shakeing is probably your gears backlashing and probably doing damage because they're not under a load as they would be if pushing the boat through the water.but Im no expert.

If there is a definate knock in your engine You might want it checked out by a pro,it may be something simple, but It could do alot of expensive damage if not corrected. This would be a great one for Rodbolt!Maybe thats why nobody will respond.Anyhow good luck and wecome to Iboats Bigmiked
