I have a 06 Ebbtide with a fuel injected 350 mag. the ignition coil was jumping spark to ground intermittently (could be seen at night). i have put a new coil on and still have the same problem. any ideas or help would be appreciated.

A faulty spark plug or spark plug wire will cause the arching.

I have replaced all plug wires , all plugs (41-992 ac ) dist cap, rotor button, and coil. Not saying it couldnt be a bad wire or plug new, But was doing same thing before, seems to be to much resistance somewhere as voltage is taking path of least resistance but looks like Merc would have known of this issue as this is not the first time ive heard of this ??? Thanks for reply !

Got the gap right on the plugs?

If your saying it's a design flaw. then insulate the area it's arcing to

I had an issue where salt water, had sprayed and was attracting moisture to the area and causing arcing.

Ayuh,.... Electricity is lazy, 'n takes the path of least resistance to ground...

By definition,.... Yer symptoms says there's a problem, Downstream, as it's jumpin' off, before ya want it too...

Did you use silicone dielectric compound on the coil high tension lead tower? Merc part number 92-823506-1.
