I've had my q7 since new. I change all fluids and oil filter 3 times a year, spring, July 4th and fall when winterizing. This year as usual all changed and she fired right up. I dumped her in and I kept getting random warning beeps. All gauges we're fine, trim fluid was half full so I capped it off. Still had the problem. Our lake that I live on is about 400 acres and it would beep about three different times on a full circle running about 28mph. I found a forum and replaced the idle air controll switch.....problem solved......now a month later I get a random beep under power in rough water and it shuts the boat down. Mostly while pulling a wake boarder. I am assuming its a sensor that do to the tilting of the boat it setting it off. I unplugged the two wires that run to the bottom of stern drive bottle......still no solution. I found the oil preassure switch and unplugged.....fired it up and gauge says 0......next is to drive it and see if it stops. But I'm not sure I'm unplugging the right wires to check......any ideas?

Try posting in the mercruiser repair section. The mechanical whizes check there not here to help solve problems.
I do believe there are separate sending units for the gauge and the buzzer. If your gauge went to zero you unplugged the wrong one. Also the water temp sending unit will cause a beep. I think usually low drive oil, low oil pressure, and high water temp will cause a steady beep. Engine sensors will cause a double beep every couple of minutes.

Wow, oil changed three times a year???!! Is that necessary??? I'm guessing you've also changed your impeller three times a year.

Lol.....nope, believe it or not same impeller......when winterizing I run antifreeze thro the stren drive and block thru the muffs. The oil in the antifreeze keeps the impeller lubed thru the storage months.....I know it's a little overkill but I put her in in April (I live on the lake she she sits on a shore station) take her out the weekend befor the 4th of July, wash and rewax and change all fluids and filters.......then before she go is in storage......probably overkill and my neighbor keeps telling me to save it so he cane us it in his.......lol

Btw, unplugged all sensors and sprayed down with contact cleaner, the oil preassure switch which is located toward the bottom of the engine had some corrosion on it......cleaned repluged, fired her right up and ran all day without a problem

Good to know you found the problems. If you have not changed the impeller I would do it when you can. Mercruiser recommends every two years.
