04 johnson wont idle

I have a 2004 90h.p. 2 cycle johnson ouyboard,the motor runs fine over 1500 rpms,but it will only idle if i squeeze the primer bulb every 1 to 2 minutes apart.I have installed a new omc primer bulb,checked fuelline connections,tried a different portable fuel tank and is still doing same thing.It will idle for up to 2 mins. before it dies or I squeeze bulb.does anyone have any suggestions?I know it is something simple.

I'm no outboard expert but it sounds to me like a problem with the fuel pump.

I had the exact same symptoms on a 1984 Erude 185. Problem was a kinked fuel feed line between the connector and the VRO pump. It's a tight squeeze in there and the line had disfigured to the point of restricting flow. Check for similar other things that might be restricting flow in the system.
