Hi all,
I am new to this forum, found it looking for advice on my Johnson. If anyone would have any ideas on this I would like to say Thanks in advance.
When you start it after pumping the primer bulb ( which stays hard ) it starts quickly but then will "sneeze" out of the exhaust and stall, if you start it and shift quick into forward and get above 1500 rpm's it is fine no problems at all.I built a tank at the house and while running it I shot 4 can's of seafoam through the carbs,( neighbors loved that ),but that didn't solve the problem.
I changed the plugs and it has fresh fuel no E , all gas ?
Thanks 4/0

Sounds like dirty carbs, on the idle jets, clean and rebuild carbs, make sure you clean all jets/orfices well, use compressed air.

Any amount of varnish or small debris will cause poor performance.

you can try sticking your fingers in the throat of the carbs one at a time and see if this smooths out the idle, sort of like choking one carb at a time and this could assist you in isolating the poor performing carb at idle,
