I'm restoring a 1954 woodie runabout, with dual 1961 Johnson 40 outroard motors. It has a single Airguide tach (#6487) and Airguide (something???), model # 664A & B.
Anyone have an idea how it's to wired in? Any way to switch the single tach to each of the outboard motors?
Thanks.......

I don't know either except I believe that "something" is called a transmitter...I think. Probably ought to refer you over to the Antique Outboard Motor Club's Ask-A-Member forum. aomci.org

A Great source of Instructions that were actually sold with new Airguide tachs can be found at this website in dowloadable pdf format for viewing in adobe reader. You will be able to see multiple wiring diagrams for single/dual motor set up, how to jump the transmitter for 2 cylinder VS. 4 cylinder and also 6 cylinder applications. Many models are listed, just find your model and click the link that applies to your tach.
