    Prop sizing questions

I want some opinions on my prop selection. I recently replaced my outdrive with a sterndrive unit and purchased a piranha prop at the same time. I got two sets of blades, 14x19 and 15x17. This weekend with my engine finally tuned to what I consider to be perfect, on reasonably smooth water I...

    WOT RPM on my engine

Hi everyone, I have a 140 Mercruiser with a spec sticker on it that lists WOT as 4200-4600. Everything I read lists the WOT as 4400-4800. Does the sticker supercede everything else, or should I be going by the newer/more common rating? Thanks,

    Merc 3.0 timing question

Hopefully this isn't too stupid of a question. When setting the timing on my engine recently I couldn't see the timing mark with the light on the #1 wire. I tried #3 and nothing, then #4 and I could see it and set the timing in the correct range. I assumed that I had the firing order...

    Resistor wire causing problems?

Discovered last night that my resistor wire is getting very hot with the ignition on. Tested the wire and came up with a 1.2 reading instead of the 1.8-2.0 that is normal. Obviously need to get a new wire, but could this be causing me problems upstream in my wiring?

    Driveshaft question

I'm hoping this is a stupid qeustion. I installed my new SEI outdrive over the weekend, and it went on fine, no problems getting the drive to slide all the way in. However inside the boat, the first o-ring on the shaft is still visible. I didn't pay attention to the old one before I took it...

    Bellhousing question

I am in the process of replacing my bearing and bellows, and while cleaning off the old bellows adhesive I noticed that the exhaust port on the bellhousing is damaged. Apparently the clamp was tightened too much and the screw section of the clamp dimpled the port making it out of round and...
