    Johnson V4 years compatibility?

    First off, sorry. I'm sure this has been asked a million times. But, I've been searching for two days and can't find anything. I have a 1997/98 Johnson 90 hp. I have a chance to pick up a running powerhead for an 85 Johnson from the late 70's. Will the block exchange? Any other parts?

    1990 alpha 1 mercruiser shift cable thread/tap size

    I did do a search and the results are confusing to me. I post very little and read very much. But, this has me questioning my findings (not the wisdom of those providing answers). Trying to remove the shift cable from my 1990 alpha 1 bell housing and the search revealed a special tap - 1/4X18...
