    Basics Please!

    Wiring, circuits etc have passed me by in my life experience. Is there anywhere that I can go to lean the basics? I have a hull that will soon blossom but the electrics are a worry...fishfinder, bilge, running lights, bait tank, (have 2x800cca bats and a master switch). Rich

    Foam in Hull

    I am rebuilding an aluminum 20’ bayrunner and when lifting the old floors found no foam present. Apart from the obvious safety concerns, is foam required by law? Thanks

    Still overheating

    Please help! My 25hp 1970 johnson is reading as high as 200'F on the powerhead after running WOT. I checked the stat and impeller and they look fine. I pulled the plugs, no water. What could be the problem. Water is coming out of the water outlet...splutter and I blew air through the water...

    I suspected that my engine was running hot so I took it out and checked the surface temp of the power head after running WOT. My gun read 200'F.     1970 25hp Johnson pee hole / splutter?

    I asked this question before as part of another question but was hoping for more input. The water discharge out of the pee hole is a splutter rather than a nice clean line. Is this normal for an engine of this age or is it an indication of poor water flow?<br />Thanks.

    Johnson 1970 25 hp

    Just doing some tests at home in a bucket and there seems to be a lot of oil / sludge discharge. Is this normal? How much oil, pollution should an old motor put out? Do I have a leak somewhere or should I just buy a four stroke!<br />Thanks :D

    Just bought the engine and took it out once. It was hard to get started and would not idle. It ran great at high and lower speeds but when it goes to idle it cuts out.
