1974-75 Evinrude 70hp Hustler from the Triumph series Cranks, but doesn't catch fully to spark or start.

The part that connects the hose to the tank on the outboard had to be replaced, as did the fuel line running to the filter because it had some dirt in one side of that. The part of the small hose connected to the filter was clean

I'll get a picture of it next I try to push fuel through it, but as for the compression numbers, I can't remember the exact numbers from the test ran a few weeks ago but each cylinder was within spec

I'm by no means a mechanic of any level, but I'm managing with basic knowledge and a SELOC manual.

I've been working on this engine since September, replaced a lot of older parts on it and even the stator only for me to think the problem is back in the throttle body with the ignition switch. There's just not a lot of information on these engines to do my own research into them. Also, when...

1974 Johnson 70hp Outboard Wont start from turning the key

Yeah it's just with new threads I get new leads to look into things, when there have been people who've already figured it out and aren't around anymore.

1974 Johnson 70hp Outboard Wont start from turning the key

Hopefully there's someone here that can help out. I've got the same engine, same problem. Coils, batteries, spark plugs, rectifier, and flywheel were replaced to try and figure it out with still no spark. If it's really just in the ignition then I'll have to go back through the throttle body and...

Starting a 1974 Tri-Hull Restoration, it's a Stryker Mark IV model. Need help with any information or an owners manual.

It's quite the freak of nature, but when I get more settled and comfortable in life I'll take the time to truly restore it back the way it used to be after taking it apart again

Through bolted, drilled the pilot holes and used a small detail brush to seal the insides before feeding the bolts through and sealing the outer rim base of the seats to stop water from leaking in. Any holes drilled for wires got sealed up as well

I did, while some areas looked slightly more concerning than other, after nights of research and having the cap off for about 3 weeks, I inspected stringer and when I through the holes through for the motor bolts, I was able to check the status of the transom and it was all passable until I...

And to add to it, the flooring in the boat was done in two parts so I could make sure the area closer to the bow has less of a chance to leak water through it. I have much more floatation foam in my two Poons on the sides and towards the back as theres barely any weight in the front. As I've...

I put on the OSB for the front decking only, that's my only sheet of OSB, the rest is 3/4" plywood siding I slapped down into the outline of the flooring but it's sealed bottom and top entirely before being screwed in and resealed each screw in with more resin to create better water tight seals...

Oh oh oh, you're talking about the flooring and decking on the front, I don't have any that goes near the transom.

I may seem idiotic but I'm still learning a lot of the parts and language, what's the OSB?

Honestly I thought I needed one, and unless I've gotta go messing with the flywheel and stator, then I'm golden, but it's on the edge, she just needs that last piece to get back with it

The motor is a 70hp Evinrude Hustler model 70443M, I've done a compression test and my grandfather said the numbers looked good and in range for normalcy, I just tested the resistance in the Ignition coils and have found coil 1 is bad in its 2nd Winding, so I have a new one coming in this week...

So, I got all the batteries and such, but now I've run into the problem where it cranks, but doesn't spark so I'm not really sure where the problem lies exactly

It's registered and insured, and I'm licensed so after this weekend I'll have the batteries to test the outboard then I'll get some fall fishing in before setting it in the hangar for the winter.
