No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

Maybe it had the tube that goes along the side all the way down to the bottom of the oil pan and down there instead of a a simple screw in bolt there is ( or used to be ) a connection to the tube. I had this on a 1989 block. It is so you can suck the oil out when changing the oil.

was thinking of changing over to a Delco EST system from points....

I have used the Delco EST on both my 3 liter and 4.3 liter engines. I like them a lot. No starting problems because of humidity and very precise timing. No more resistor wire to lower the voltage. No more maintenance. It just works.

    Getting impatient

Tomorrow will be the first day with temperatures that are over 40. which means that the snow will start melting at a good clip. Time to start cleaning out the garage so there is room for the engine , which I will remove in order to remove the transom and replace it with a high quality plywood...

Saving the paint sides of my hull with 3m

I have always used carpet covered side bunks on my trailers with rollers on the bottom. Non of my aluminum boats has ever had a problem with the bunks scraping paint off the sides. But you must give that extra inch on each side to allow for space. Because, A: the sides of a boat are not...

    Electronic steering

I am considering that, but I just spent $3100 on new canvas. Besides, I would buy a Steiger because they are great, but an investment like that would seriously imperil my retirement savings.

    Electronic steering

I'm toying with the idea of changing my cobra i/o to a 175 horse Suzuki outboard and I would like some opinions about electronic steering instead of cable steering. What are the pros and cons? How does it work and what extra bits and pieces do need to make it work? Thank you.

    SNOW Common Sense

You forgot to mention Murphy's Law.... You should contract a snow plow jockey for the season. That is a proven way to make it snow less. And.. If it snows more, you're covered. So it is a win win situation.

anyone use the aftermarket p/s actuators sold on ebay and amazon? looking for feedback

You get what you pay for and there is a reason why they are much cheaper..... For that sort of gear, you may want to check a place like Craig's list. There are often things like that for sale that come off boats that are being scrapped. However, these actuators do not usually malfunction while...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Living in Western NY in a suburb, I have a similar code problem,but... As long as you don't ask for permission, nobody told you that you cannot do it. Code enforcement is a funny thing. Usually it is enforced only when there is a complaint. If there is a complaint I have the right to know who...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

If you jump up to the $200 covers with a 5 year warranty and spray silicone on it every spring you will have exactly what you are looking for. If you get a tear in it you can activate your warranty. On the other side. If you like to make your own stuff, then by all means go for it! The canvas...

    Been a little cold.

The cold destroyed a fishing boat that had gone out of Gloucester. The salt water spray froze onto the deck and rigging, it became top heavy, capzised and went down together with its crew. No survivors. It was a boat and crew that were featured in the "Deadly Catch" tv series. Let them rest in...

    Been a little cold.

Salt is funny stuff, it only works when the temperature is above 13 degrees F. And you cannot use sand if there is a storm sewer system because It will clog up the sewers. So it is best to crawl back into bed.
