    okay so if i am looking at the head and cyl 1 is to my left.. and 7 on my right which is the intake and which is the exhaust valve? does it go cly 1 - intake left - exhaust right cyl 3 - intake left - exhaust right etc or what? Thanks all. Happy Boating!!!

    it works!!

    took the boat out for the first time in 2 years.. first time after i dropped in a reman 260 last summer.. no problems to speak of.. started up.. idled fine.. no hesitation when throttle up.. kept it under 3000rpm but no problems up to there.. was pretty choppy out there on lake Michigan today...

    Can somebody confirm which part #s should be between the transom plate and the rear engine mount? Does it go 7,8,9 on top of rear mount 10,11 in between mount and transom plate.. then 12 on the bottom there.. thanks..

    have a 1982 merc 260 5.7 350 the merc manual says the carb on on that thing should be a rochester qjet manu# 17057298... when i ordered my reman carb last year i requested that manu#.. i just checked out the reman and it is manu# 7027157.. found that # on a site and looks like its for a 1968...

    mallory rotor wiggle? is that normal?

    1982 merc 260 .. mallory dist. the rotor has a good bit of wiggle or side to side play on top of the shaft.. this wiggle is without the shaft moving.. so its just the rotor.. is this normal? ive heard from one person that it isnt.. but nothing really really conclusive..

    pertronix ignitor II with flame thrower coil

    pertronix suggests bypassing the resistor wire to the coil.. i have read some that said they ran a wire from the ignition switch? Is that a proper way to bypass the resistor? What other specific points could be used to tie in to the 12v from ignition? thanks
