The bucket was deep. I believe the reason it got too hot was because the water pump wasn't attached to the tube since there was water coming out of the shift shaft initially when it was getting hot.
Since I don't see any cracks in the block I'm assuming the only reason there's water coming out...

I have a 1990 Force 50. I had it running in a bucket and it seemed to be doing pretty well. It did get really hot though to the point where if I threw water on top of the head the water would boil. I took the lower unit off and inspected everything and put it back on and it was pumping great...
I have a 1990 2 cylinder, 50hp force. The only problem im seeming to have right now is that the cylinder #1 isn't getting spark. I swapped the cables from the cdi to test the individual coils and both coils work fine with the the blue/red cable coming from the cdi.
The key also doesn't turn...
I bought a 1990 bass boat and it looks like the paint is peeling like this everywhere. I tried wet sanding it down and only 200 grit was working and it looks like I went too hard in some spots because it's silver.

What's the best way to remove the old peeling...
