    I have a 1991 johnson v4 90. The issue was that my tacho wouldnt always work I'm not sure whether my charging system is working properly. The battery had 12.7V before starting. I started the motor on flushing muffs and let it idle for 3 minutes. It went up to 13.1. does this sound right?

    Oh yes lol I should of listened to you initially. At the time I had just gotten off the phone to a marine mechanic and was told likely not it. Is there any trick to getting it off and installing a new one?

    Unsure of part number, it was replaced just before I bought it by a marine mechanic. It's not mounted directly on the port, just has a hose from the pulse valve to the pump.

    Thanks for the response mate, flywheel key seems to be ok. It's sort of odd to me that it was only after the VRO was deleted that this occurred. Do you think maybe a vacuum leak or leak in fuel line?
