    All good info. Thanks everyone for helping out a newbie. The boat is well maintain and the floor seems to be solid. Even the seats have original covers on them that are not faded or ripped. I will be going to the mechanic to see the boat this coming Saturday. Hopefully I can find the HIN.

    Bondo. thanks for the reply. I'm in Canada. And unfortunately, the HIN is not on the registration. When I changed ownership, the form that I needed to fill out asks for the HIN but leaves it optional. My understanding is that some of the older boats don't have a HIN. So I managed to register it...
