    1989 bayliner 170 1989 force 125 did say about 35 and 4800rpm is all it will do and when coming out of throttle doesn’t always idle and the only way to start is use hand throttle

    The thing that’s a puzzle to me was misfire on cyl 1 no spark changed out cdi supplying no 1& 2 one and to has spark now no3 has no spark.also the fact at the dash with ignition switch in my hand got shock from white wire is that right or wrong ?.

    Hi Jerry so done more testing checking but have really exhausted what I can do don’t have dva tester not confident in meters and scales anyway so I’m pretty much out of ideas can’t find uk bas marine engineer who wants to look and parts in uk for force non existent so stumped a bit for next move...

    Hi and thanks for reply I have the rectifier wiring sorted now but still may need some ignition stuff as still have spark non start issue before non start issue it was running on cyl 1 & cyl 2 so went to back of cdi and swapped out firing leads from 1&2 to 3&4 it back fired and done nothing...

    So please to clarify if I have another problem ie stator.trigger.rectifier.can that damage my good cdi if I swap it over to cyl number 3&4 is there not a test I can carry out to prove these parts instead of risking a known good cdi by connecting it to a maybe bad system ????

    Hi Jerry thanks for reply so the only known good pack I have at mo is the one tats running cyl 1&2 at mo can I just go to rear of packs and swap the coil out puts from 3&4 to 1&2 and if then misses on 1&2 does that mean it’s cdi or ca there still be other issue ??? Cheers dave
