RE: "Original 1988 Spectrum BlueFin Sales Catalog (Pictures)" - dead link. Anyone have a backup?

I noticed the sticky link at the top of the forum here has dead links. Archive.org has one copy of the page archived from 2012, but only text, no pictures (so doesn't do us any good). Does anyone have a copy somewhere? Kinda quiet in here, so thinking no, but figured I'd ask.

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

$100. That was with full disclosure of its throttle issue. Guy who bought it was from Belize - he takes stuff like that back to the homeland and resells it. Also gave me $200 for my 1994 5hp Gamefisher (Force/Merc)

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

Well everyone, I got too many other projects that I should be working on instead of this little motor, so I sold it yesterday in it's present state. It was fun to tinker with and I even made a few bucks on the deal as well. Thanks all for your input.

    The unfixable headgasket - 1996 Force 15hp

Following this thread - I'm having the exact same issue with my new-to-me 1990 Force 5hp. Replaced gaskets (dry, no sealant), lapped both head and powerhead (180 grit on glass, crosshatch), NEW head (Quicksilver), new head bolts. STILL leaks water!!!

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

I thought the same earlier, but the float hinge (#18 in the diagram) is spring steel, and non-adjustable (can't be bent) as far as I can tell. The plastic float appears sound and doesn't have any fluid in it, and moves freely. I'll check the fuel height using the clear supply tube and report...

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

I added the inline fuel filter - the OEM petcock with screen had to be replaced. The clear tube is a temporary fuel supply to the carburetor; this removes the tank, petcock, & filter from the test. However, the engine behaves the same on either fuel supply. Previous owner said it was a 3.5hp...

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

Ah, what the heck. Went out to the garage and played with it for a few minutes. 85psi was all I could get using the recoil start, WOT (though it doesn't seem to make a difference either way). Didn't have a spare (similar) plug to test with. I'll have to source another one somehow. Put the old...

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

I will tomorrow and post back. My Gamefisher 5hp got all the attention today.

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

Well, thanks for that input. I've learned my lesson plenty of times on these old motors, and I'd like to think that I know when to throw in the towel.... but I'm still a sucker when I see one for cheap. They're multiplying in my garage somehow.

Parts diagrams of ignition system and carburetor for reference.

Me? I don't a service manual yet. Just got the motor a week ago.

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

It's a big bucket (55 gal) - at half throttle, water's moving pretty good, but it's always deep enough to keep the water intake submerged. No neutral on this motor, it's fixed gear. I'm not sure my timing's advancing, that was the original question. I'll pull the flywheel to investigate...

    1984 StarCraft islander 221

Gorgeous, just gorgeous! I love the color - subtle, not like all this busy bright stuff on new boats. I'm in the market myself for to resurrect a Chieftain or Islander. Any interior shots?

My wee little motor won't run full speed (2000 OMC 3.5hp)

I'm trying to give new life to this little neglected motor that I paid $60 for. In a bucket, it idles great and revs fine to 1/2 throttle. Past 1/2 throttle it bogs down, and will run no faster. When I intentionally starve the carb of fuel, it revs higher right before cutting out (like most two...

Magneto experts needed ('68 Johnson 9.5hp top cyl intermittent spark)

Thanks everyone for your comments. Replaced both plug wires and she purrs like a kitten now. Racerone called it spot on - insulation was rubbed through at the bend when the wire passes through the plate. I should've planned on changing those in the first place. It was about a three hour job; had...

Thanks for those. Already read through Leeroys' stuff (even printed it), but haven't watched that video yet.

Yeah I agree. And I'll look at the 90° bend under the plate today as you suggested earlier. It just bugs me that the plug wire ohms out as it's supposed to, so if the minute voltage from the meter is enough to make continuity, you'd think the 10k+ volts wouldn't have a problem. I have plug...

Magneto experts needed ('68 Johnson 9.5hp top cyl intermittent spark)

I agree with all that. The 1 ohm across open contacts stuck in my head as the reference I used when comparing readings across the freshly cleaned point contacts. Each time they were cleaned, I didn't necessarily disconnect everything. My meter has capacitance capability, though I've never used...

Exactly - I should've clarified that this was with the coils connected. With coils out, open circuit across contacts.
