    Eating Anchor crow...

Background: I have bashed "Box" type anchors for longer than I have been on this forum. Every test I have seen shows that a typical Danforth style with proper chain, and scope, will significantly out pull the Box type. With that said, where I boat on the Colorado River Lakes (Havasu and Mead...

Bennet's Trim Tabs go up, but not down

New ride for me. Has Bennett sport tabs. Ran the boat for one day. Both tabs worked fine, and then down quit working. They are all the way up now. I can hear the pump running when I press up, and I can hear the solenoid snap when I press down, but the pump doesn't run. Thoughts? Tabman? Oddly...

    OBD2 Scanners, WiFi? Hardwire?

I'm going to buy a cheap OBD2 scanner. I am thinking less than $50. There are so many and now there are WiFi/Bluetooth units that allow you to use a PC, iPad or SmartPhone. I am leaning that way. Any advice or comments?

    Speed Buffer

No, not a high speed buffer, a speed buffer... On older electronic Caterpillar truck engines, and some machines, there is a separate mini-box, controller type deal called a speed buffer. CAT part number is 3E-0020. My understanding is that they condition the speed signal from the chopper wheel...

Thinking about going back to Internet Explorer

I have been a die hard Firefox guy for about 5 years. Lately I have been getting some weird lags when scrolling and also using a lot of CPU on certain sites with FF. I have tried Chrome and they don't offer a sidebar for Bookmarks etc. and it just doesn't work for me. I got that habit from IE...

    UPS Groaners

I had never seen this before. Got me chuckling: Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, UPS is the only...

    Nor'easter?

So I have been watching CNN. And of course this is NOR'EASTER 2014 coverage 24/7. And of course everyone is screwed and people are freezing and cars are splattered everywhere and CNN is saving the world. But that has nothing to do with my question..... I understood that Nor'easters were a storm...

    Watkins Glen!!

Got another favorite this week; Owen Kelly in the #51. These posts are from the Road America/Nationwide thread a few weeks ago: I talked to his dad after it was announced he would drive the #51 at Watkins Glen. Dad is sooo pumped. The family all flew up from Australia. Dad owns this fleet...

    Cutting up tires

I have a set of four used wheels and tires. Cheapo 16 inch tires. I am going to list the wheels on eBay, the tires are shot. I have no tire removal tooling, nor do I want to dispose of them whole. Anybody cut tires off a wheel? And I want to dice them up and put out with the trash. Can I do this...
