2003 5.7 Volvo Penta water in oil

So you think the issue is exhaust manifold or riser? Someone put in here to fill it with acetone because it will seep thru a crack where water might not. Is there anyway I can’t pressure test it? I’ve tried to think how to cap the water outlet on the riser while separating it from the exhaust...

2003 5.7 Volvo Penta water in oil

Once I pressure test the engine, if there is an issue with the block, head, or head gasket, would I be able to determine which one is damaged? If so how? And I mean would I be able to tell which one is bad without tearing it apart first.

Ok. It’s just a fresh water boat. I’m going to set it up to pressure test the engine.

2003 5.7 Volvo Penta water in oil

Ok. I didn’t put pressure to anything but I filled the water side up and nothing came out of the exhaust ports. But nothing may show up unless I put pressure to it? How exactly is the best way to pressurize the manifold and riser together? I’m just not sure how to cap off the outlet side.

I took the exhaust manifold off and I noticed as I took the bolts out that the 2 bolts closest to 4 & 6 were discolored and rusty. I assume that may say something?

2003 5.7 Volvo Penta water in oil

Boat started getting hot. Thought it was maybe something minor (thermostat, impeller, water pump) all checked out good. Then I noticed water in the oil. Pulled the plugs. Blowing water out of #4 and #6. I know it could be a plethora of things, but where do I start?

The owner previous of me got this engine hot and it’s getting water in the oil. The cylinders would fill up with water which led me to find the exhaust manifold is bad. I am not sure about the block. Is there anyway I can test the rest of the engine before I go and buy a manifold? I don’t want...

    2002 crownline 305 mercruiser

Just installed this motor and noticed oil dripping from this hole when around 2000 rpm but wouldn’t when just idling. Is this a crank position sensor hole? If so the other motor didn’t have one.

    2003 Crownline oil reservoir fitting

I have removed the dribbler valve from the bell housing and will be plugging that hole. I have taken a bell housing gasket and flipped it to where the hole where the dribbler valve was will now be covered. So the hole will be water tight. No water should leak back through the transom because the...
