I was getting some oil for my lower unit and this mechanic at the marina was telling me I could install 85hp carbs and have an 85hp engine. Any truth to this?
Does this unit have a alarm in it and if so is there a way to test it? Also are the shifter and throttle cables the same? Mine are falling apart and need replaced.

I picked up an 83 tracker that I'm restoring to Musky fish from. Does anyone know if I can remove everything except the console or will that cause structural issues?
