    Why should I have a Hi thrust prop on a 9.8hp kicker?

    While discussing a kicker for my 1701 Starcraft, it was recommended that I get a High Thrust motor. I bought a long shaft Tohatsu 9.8 hp four stroke motor.     Ok, I have this 1989 Starcaft Medalist 1701 with an OMC 2.3L Cobra sterndrive. I understand 4 cyl ford engines, The rest is new to me. Spotted this Service Manual on ebay. Is this what I need to understand my power unit?
