    Flywheel magnet scratches

Just curious how concerned I should be about scrapes that maladjusted coils made? How pristine should surfaces be?

    Super Seahorse lousy spark.

1959 35hp Super Seahorse. Starts and runs but spark lackluster. I replaced coils, points (.020), condensers, plug wires. Old ones looked visually ok. Still looking for that 1/4" w a snap. I'm lucky to get half of that. What's next?

    Throttle on 59 Seahorse 35

So the boat floats and motor runs good on first stage. Went to throttle up and she starts dying. No rich to lean adjustments helped. So my options seemed to be. Start over with leaner carb ( 1/2 turn) and adjust from actual needle and not the connected version that only gives me 60 to 90 degree...

    59 Johnson Lower end rebuild

Just an observation. The new prop shaft seal and drive shaft seals look much more lightweight. They fit but have less metal and rubber. Since these kits are aftermarket and the rebuild requires some labor, just want to be sure this is "normal"

59 Johnson Seahorse 35 Shift Linkage Seal

Looks like the common way to remove shift linkage seal is to drill and tap brass bushing. It is located fairly deep in the housing, but I assume long bit and extention for tap. It sits about 8" in from gearbox side. 1. I am aproaching this correctly? 2. Reuse old bushing? (None in rebuild kit)...

    More on Super Seahorse 35 - 1959

Rebuilding carb and have 3 issues with rebuild kit: 1. No welch plug..... I see that I can buy an alternate kit that has it, although I would rather just find the plug 2. I see a "boss gasket" in exploded view that is closest to mine. My high speed nozzle did not have anything of this nature...
