    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Well guys, getting closer to spring and closer to completion. As I previously said (much to my chagrin) its an 18 ft (SUS 180) not the 16 I thought it was. Changed the 9.9 for a twenty five (tight budget still). Painted interior, installed re-upolstered bow cushions, got correct remote controls...

    Difference between a 1995 Mercury Sea Pro 25 and a 25EL

I cant seem to find any info about what is different between a 25EL and a 25 Sea Pro (or Marathon). I recently got a 1995 Mercury 25 HP EL. I sent away for an owners manual and got a 20-25 SeaPro/Marathon manual. My S/N 0G191236. Anybody please explain the differences in the model...

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Probably not original to the boat, but I couldn't pass up this cool Starcraft OEM wheel. Very hard to find any emblems or medallions for Starcraft boats online. I wanted one for the dash, but settled for a decal. When I saw this wheel, it was one of those "I gotta have it!" It was rust stained...

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

And here, fishing in Tuckerton Bay, 84 degrees and sunny. The SS doing her job albeit only with a 9.9. It's been a short time that I've been working on her, but a long time from the scrap yard. This is a great group, thank you all for the input.

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Definitely a 16, re-measured at 16.38 ft. Reversed the existing bow rails and fabricated a forward section from older aluminum 7/8 tubing. Using 1/2 inside to couple to existing rail ends. Bow sections will be joined with a 125 degree v fitting. (again, working on a tight budget, no new rails...

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Interesting comment,in that I measured the boat from transom to bow and it read 16.6. However the title says it's an 18? How did Starcraft determine the length? The previous owner had an older Mercury 115 on it, and I found an old, very worn USCG capacity plate in the bilge, for an 18, and...

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Thanks again to all. Got her in the water and took a test ride. Not a speed boat, but moved enough with the 9.9 to take a 4 mile ride..... More work to do over the winter. Looks like I got her in just in time for hurricane Mathew. We are only 2 feet above sea level here and our peninsula...

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Well Folks, thanks for the feedback. Re: Chapter 1: Here's the boat when I found it at the boat yard. One thing I'm looking for is second back to back seat. I already replaced one pedestal with a back to back seat, but need another (vintage). Also the bow rail looks like the previous owner...

    1976 Starcraft SuperSport Rescue

Why would anyone want to scrap this boat? After the rescue, I went about a preliminary restore, with the idea of fine tuning the balance next spring. The transom was completely rotted and had to be replaced. My goal was to get it in the water for the fall fishing season. Some parts are still...

    1976 Starcraft Supersport 16'

Have you all ever seen a transom in a bucket? Replacing with 3/4 exterior ply. No need to go for Marine ply and definitely don't use treated.
