    Captain's seat to low

I have a 1994 Marada MVB and the seat is just bolted to the floor. It swivels around but it’s just to low and uncomfortable. Has anyone here experienced this? I thought about just building a box with a drawer to raise the seat up 4-5 inches. I would probably do the same to the passenger seat too.

What do you pull your boat with?

I tow my Marada 1950 MVB with a 1500 Silverado WT single cab with a 4.3l manual transmission. It'll keep 55 but the two lakes we go to are 40 minutes on state routes. I have a locking differential to put in the truck but the wife wants to do some longer trips and her, the dog, and I need a...

Trim not working properly after engine rebuild

I just discovered an issue with my trim system on the home stretch of a motor swap on my 1994 Marada. We pulled the lower unit, then the motor, swapped parts to a long block, placed the rebuilt motor in and replaced the lower unit. The issue is now seen as we tried to connect the trim cylinders...

    Merc 305 replacement

I was a (fill in your own words here) and cracked the block on my 305. I was thinking about using jb weld since it appears to be just the water jacket. However, wanting to be able to keep the boat for a while or sell it I want to replace it. I was going to get a long block and use a forklift...

    Maneuvering Trailers Into Tight Spots

I keep my boat in a 30'x10' storage locker seeing that I currently live in an apartment and want to keep prying eyes off my stuff. My current issue is that I can not back the boat attached to the truck into it due to the angle. Growing up working at a campground I've had to manhandle many boats...

Clean Water Flush / Anti Freeze Quick Valve

Does anyone have or has anyone heard of this type of setup? Basically, I know I'm going to be travelling with my boat and with some of the more recent water contamination issues here in Ohio I want to clean the boat after and before each use. I have heard it mentioned to spray off the hull and...

    Pulling Out With Stick Shift

Are there any tips for those of us with manual transmissions and pulling boats out of the water. On this year's maiden voyage my truck pulled the boat out fine the first round, but when we did round two it was a different story. We would either smoke the clutch or spin the tires. I eventually...

How Do You Stuff Your Stuff

Hello All, I am new to the open bow runabout area of boating, I grew up on pontoons and canoes. Besides some variants in operation and maintenance, I am contemplating storage issues. On pontoons, there are usually more places to store gear; safety gear, toys, fishing gear, coolers, bait, and...
