    Strength of Fulton Fold-away

I have an oddball project. I am considering making a swing away cargo carrier for my camper van. I was thinking of using one of the fulton fold-aways for it. The load capacity for these is listed on the attached site. The style I was thinking of is similar to this...

Hello and stupid question. are the fiberglass bowfishing arrows a wider diameter than a standard arrow? I just beed to get an arrow rest and my compound bow will be ready to take carp fishing. Can I use something like this, or is it shaft specific? One of the questions was answered that it...

    New site lettering

I think I just repeated that mileage was deductible in order to clarify mileage and hotels were seperate itemized amounts. It's nothing that needs to be restored, I just thought maybe I'd offended someone...

    Wiring Accessories for an Outlet

I need to wire a 3amp water pump to run off of a standard household outlet. It will eventually run through an inverter, but for now I'm testing it on a household outlet. I bought a cheap extension cord and cut the female terminal off. I then installed an in-line 3amp fuse followed by a rocker...

    2004 mercruiser 5.7 L MCM

My dads got a 5.7 liter mercruiser with problems that have plagued him all season. The motor was factory new in 2004 It's Carburated (new carburator in the last three years) It starts cold just fine Once it warms up & idles down and you rev it up it does fine, but if you pull back on the...

    1971 17' Bell Boy Runabout

I ended up making my own ez steer bracket for my minn kota electric 55lb thrust trolling motor. The motor itself pushes the boat along rather nicely for lake trolling and only a light breeze. When the wind does kick up I have to fire up the main motor, so to anyone looking to troll with a 17'...

    Camper Van as Tow Vehicle

Aspeck, I didn't notice a hesitation or knock per say. It might be between a ping and a knock to be fair. On a less important note, I'm thinking if the electric bench doesn't sleep well I'll try something like this. with a slight modification (sorry the drawing is turned sideways) The...

    22' Starcraft Express Craft

I am hoping you Starcraft buffs could help me out here. I ran across this CL ad and talked to the owner today. He's an older guy so I'll try to piece together what I learned. Here is what he has from the post and unfortunately no pictures are available. This is a vintage 1967 classic Star...

    Camper Van as Tow Vehicle

I've been throwing around the idea of selling my Toyota Tundra and picking up a camper van as my tow vehicle. Has anyone had any experience with this route? Has anyone used a camper van... Any thoughts? Here's the one I'm thinking about but I'd need a mechanic to look into the salvage issue...

EZ-Steer Bracket for Electric Trolling Motor

Thanks GM, I kept your advice in mind while fabing up the aluminum plate. I have finished and am quite happy with the $45 product. I'll hopefully test it out this weekend, but the Missus fractured her knee cap in a moment of haste so we'll see.

EZ-Steer Bracket for Electric Trolling Motor

Well the X-Clamp arrived and I am mostly finished with the first round fitting. I have to make a hardware run tomorrow after work. Here's what I have so far. As a result of all this adjusting I realized I need to adjust my steering arm on the main to get it center on the boat. I guess I...

EZ-Steer Bracket for Electric Trolling Motor

Has anyone seen an ez-steer bracket for an electric trolling motor? I am trying to think of a way to do this. My Minn Kota's shaft is approximately 1.25" (looked to be 28mm's or 1.15"). I googled for a long time and didn't find anything that was worth spending money on. I think the X-Clamp by...

    1971 17' Bell Boy Runabout

I also mounted up the 2nd-hand canvas top. I think I'm going to try making a new top out of some sunbrella material since the original is pretty stiff. Has anyone had experience with making their own canvas tops? I’ve seen a couple youtubes, but someone’s experience from here would be...

    1971 17' Bell Boy Runabout

Earlier this week I solved my issue of securing the foot kick up by the captain's chair. I've been thinking of ways to latch it off-and-on for a couple months now and finally hit a success. I drilled then cut to size then chucked it up to the drill press Using a file, I shaved the end and...

    1971 17' Bell Boy Runabout

I mentioned bolting a new-to-me motor on the boat a couple months ago. That seems to have worked out. It's a 1975 Evinrude 50 hp. While tackling a couple other minor issues on the list, I made up a transom plate to mount my depth finder and speedometer's pitot pickup to (new speedometer mounted...

    1950's McCullough 7.5hp

I believe it was also branded as a Scott Attwater. I will try to pull the serial number on this motor tonight. I haven't found anyone making new stators for these. Does anyone know of a source? It's probably a good anchor weight, but the vintage of it is just so cool!

    Bilge Drain Question

Why do they put the drain through the transom instead of thivkening the hull and go strain down? had For someone who wouldn't run the boat and pull the drain if they hwter in the bilge it seems like an opertunity for a rotten transom. Just curious.
