    New 2.3 Merc (Note to self)

    It really helps to turn on the gas before trying to start the brand new engine.... Might save pulling the stupid rope for 5 minutes and wondering why it won't start. :p Nice little putt-putt... moves the 14 ft sailboat along briskly.

    Fuel Line

    I changed out all the lines in my boat and engine last year. Boat fuel line is rated for longer time in a fire before it burns through than automotive fuel line. Just a few bucks more for the marine rated vs the automotive. Fire on a boat is something to be avoided....

    How much help will they really be?

    Local FD "rescue team" (team in need of rescue is more like it...) Using a retired (beyond economical repair) TPWD game warden boat as their rescue boat. The hull is beat up and bent. Engine is so "reliable" that once they got it running they preferred to idle for 1.5 hr tied to the dock...

    Replace VRO pump with just a fuel pump.

    J150STLESB Fuel pump broke. Its been running with VRO disabled for years and i do not want to put another VRO pump on. I know there's a dual pump setup that will work but don't know what to get.

    Alcort Minifish... Mod it?

    I got hold of an Alcort Minifish, everything OEM, almost perfect except the halyard and the bridle line. (ropes; short, worn and weak from age... easy to deal with. Main sheet looks like a new one) Yes, the OEM sail is in good condition. (which is really surprising for a appx 30 yr old sail)...

    Musical props
