89 200hp 2.5 dead cylinders not getting fuel?

Oh, also i mentioned 2.5 dead cylinders. one of them #6 backfires a little and when disconnected the motor runs smoother. Guess it could be running a little lean or something. I've gone through the carbs with compressed air is all. Haven't messed with the rich lean settings.

89 200hp 2.5 dead cylinders not getting fuel?

Hi, i have a 89 Evinrude 200hp (on my Stratos bass boat). I'm having starting problems, can only get it started cold by using the manual start solenoid (red lever) under the fuel pump. It is my understanding that i should only need to use that thing if i need to manual start the flywheel with a...

timer base missing big chunk of magnet (?)

Hi, I have a 200hp 1989 evinrude and I lost spark suddenly. Following the shop manual I troubleshooted until I reached the sensor coil resistance test. The timer base failed this test, i removed and inspected it. I noticed one of the (magnets?) had a big chunk missing out of it. The other was in...

while trying to start it will backfire a ton of fuel out of the exhaust, also when i tip the motor up it drains a bunch out as well. when i finally get it started it will run like it always has, and even start back up after its warm. getting tired of dumping fuel in the water though. any...

1958 Johnson Seahorse 18hp air pressure issues

Hey there, i got a motor i have been working on for a while. Finally got it to run a bit and it dies once the carb runs out of fuel. It does run if i set the tank above the motor or if i press the primer button (two line fuel line btw). I have rebuilt the carb and the tank and can't find any...

58 johnson 18 horse, starts great but dies after 30 seconds. Great prime.

Starts right up and runs and sounds great for like 30 seconds. i thought the problem was my tank, went and bought new gaskets and now have excellent prime, however it did not fix the problem. I have great compression at 100, great spark and am at a loss. The carburetors are so simple on...

58 johnson seahorse 18hp runs best when pressurized tank is higher than motor

from my understanding this would generally mean i'm not keeping my prime, but i have checked my hoses and fittings and can't find any leaks. just to clarify when i raise the tank it will run for a good 15-20 seconds, but then will die. with the tank lowered i can get two or three seconds. I have...

Hey there. Have a 58 seahorse 18hp. I'm thinking about converting it to electric start. I'm having a tough time finding a kit. Also on the upper rich lean adjustor I split the needle by tightening the screw too much so am looking for that and the knob that goes with it. I guess while I'm at...
