    Flashing light on ACC switch

I just got back from doing some troubleshooting. I disconnected and reconnected the power wire at the battery and the switch worked normally. What baffles me is that the light flash was so consistent in duration. For now I have to assume it was just the loose connection.

    Flashing light on ACC switch

I have a 2006 Bennington 2575RL. A new problem arose this summer when I turn on the ACC switch that supplies power to my radio and depth finder. At first I thought there was an intermittent problem as the power to the radio would come and go. But yesterday I saw that when the switch is...

    2006 F115 wiring questions

I was able to trace the black/pink wires from the sender to a connection at the engine. Assuming the sender is a variable resistor, I connected an ohmmeter across the black and pink leads and moved the engine. The resistance changed with engine movement leading me to believe the sender may be...

    2006 F115 wiring questions

I bought a 2006 pontoon boat two years ago and am in the process of sorting out some things. I've reached the point where I'd like the answers to two questions. First, the tilt/trim function works well, but the trim gauge is motionless off the scale above the UP position. I've determined that...

    windlass

Think about a windy day with the anchor well set. Now think about how much force you have to use to pull the boat toward the anchor until the line gets vertical enough to free the anchor from the bottom. That's how much force your windlass will need. . . . When I studied this issue a while...

Foam in toons or safety gauge to detect leak

If it were me, I wouldn't worry for a few reasons. It is unlikely a pontoon will spring a leak only while you are sleeping. If it has been in the water for hours and is still level at bedtime, I'd feel safe. If a pontoon springs a leak it won't matter unless it is below the water line. And...

    Re-decking a 2003 Misty Harbor Tritoon

Are you saying the bottom of the boat is skinned with aluminum sheets? If so they are likely held on with screws or rivets. If that is too big a challenge, perhaps you could drill an access hole wherever it is needed. ... It is not uncommon for water to get behind a skinned bottom and that's...

1998 Crest - Mercury Force Motor cover hits Back Deck

I have an old pontoon boat with the engine mounted under the rear sun deck. The motor is larger than the original and hits the deck if raised all the way. For that reason I modified the deck so it could be raised to give more space for the engine.

    Boat running slower

Increased drag from increased weight can cause that symptom. It sounds like you have an idea of the cause. It's time to pull it out and check for water in the log.

Pony log for 3rd, and a hydrofoil (yes, really)

I have more questions than answers. How much did your top speed increase (from this to that)? Were the hydrofins installed when you had the 2-stroke or 4-stroke? Did they mention that the location of the hydrofins needed to be at the boat's center of gravity? As a pony log will likely be...

    I/O in a tritoon

All I can add is that when I was in the market for a used pontoon boat two years ago, every time I came across a boat in very good condition at an attractive price, it was an I/O. Based on demand/price, it appears than most buyers don't want an I/O and that brings the price down. The word of...

    No rear cleat?

On my old boat there was a thin trim piece that covered the edge of the decking and the stout aluminum framing beneath it. If the missing eye went into the aluminum frame, you may be able to replace it or put a new one nearby by drilling a mounting hole. If it were mine I'd prefer a U-bolt...

    F115 Yamaha no trim

That was the info I needed. I switched the blue and green wires and confirmed the up side of the relay is bad. A new relay assembly is on order. ... I'll address the trim gauge over the winter.
