I have a 1977 4.5 merc outboard starts right up in choke and stalls when I switch to fuel. Runs fine with the choke in neutral, but when I shift to forward it stalls out. I got back to the dock in reverse - ran at full throttle in reverse. I added startron to the fuel before this happened...
I have a 1977 4.5 mercury outboard - it's starts fine with the choke on, but dies when I switch to Fuel. what would be the cause of this? what happens if you run the motor with the choke for extended period of time?
