EVINRUDE Lower end taken off to see why it would not stay in gear except at high speed. No clutch/dog problem. replaced seals and water pump and now I cannot move shifter into reverse-but-it will go if I push the cable pc backward by hand. (Ser #J0567731-1985). Now my neighbor tells me and...
I do not have enough actuator movement to shift into reverse and do not know what --move the cable to a lower hole--means. Where is the hole?

Any thoughts on why 3 or 4 teeth in 3 different places are either worn down partially or completely? I have found a good replacement flywheel and do not want it to happen again.

The nut uses a 1 3/8 socket but cannot budge it with breaker bar as there is no way to stop shaft rotation. Do I need to use an impact wrench?
