    6.5 turbo diesel

I'm just curious to know if anyone is using or has used a GM 6.5 turbo diesel, or even a 6.2 n/a as a marine engine. I recently bought a 25' Starcraft Chieftain that has an I-6 mercruiser and just thinking of different options on how to repower it. It would seem (the 6.5) would make decent power...

    Boat weight???

I'll be towing my boats over 5000 kms, one way trip from Ontario to Vancouver Island. I'm looking to find out how much these boats weigh to make sure the trailer tires will handle the trip. I'm getting all brand new tires for peace of mind but I also don't want to go broke buying new rubber...

    New to the salt water...

I just moved from northern Ontario to Vancouver Island and both my boats are raw water cooled. One is an 18' Starcraft with a 140 mercruiser and the other is a 34' Chris craft with twin 230hp 327cid chevy blocks. Both boats are still in Ontario at this time but I'm planing on bringing the...

    Just my luck...

...today I found the flat screwdriver that had disappeared about 2 years ago. It would seem the last time I used it was while working on my dad's dakota. It was wedged between the frame and the lower rad hose, where it rubbed a hole in the rad hose that I just changed out about 2 years ago...

    My buddy's freebee

My good friend was looking for a boat so I found him this boat and motor in the "free" category on kijiji. He picked it up on Saturday. I still haven't had the chance to go over and check it out but he sent me a few pics. Strange looking hull??? He told me it's a Scott... Would that be the same...

Hey guys from BC on the coast

Sometime this summer the wife and I are loading up the dogs in our school bus/camper conversion and taking a one way trip west. We want to live in our camper year round so we will be looking for a spot where we can park and not be bothered, maybe close to a marina where I could get a job fixing...

    A little miracle

One of my Chihuahuas had 4 pups 2 nights ago but one is to weak to feed himself. My wife has been up for 2 days now feeding him a drop at a time. He's moving around more than he was yesterday but he's far from being out of the woods yet. I have 5 Chihuahuas, 2 males and 3 females and when ever...

    26' bayliner

I'm going to look at a boat on Saturday, but I'm not sure what to look for on a boat this size. I'm used to tinneys, small I/O, runnabouts and speedboats. 18' and under pretty much. I'm experienced with mercruisers, OMC stringers and cobras but I don't recognize the outdrive on this boat...

Sea Rayder Repair Manual for Powerhead Removal

Re: Sea Rayder Repair Manual for Powerhead Removal It comes out in one piece. I removed the head, carbs and everything after I pulled it out. You should be able to see where the bolts that hold the motor down are located pretty good with these pics.

Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist. I wouldn't mind finding something like this close to me for a project... so long as the hull isn't full of water. It kind of looks like the bow is sitting a bit lower. That would definately be a nice boat to go explore the great lakes once restored.
