The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
What do you call the membrane between the boat horn and outer hull grill AKA horn cover?
I inadvertently caught mine with a power sprayer for a 1/2 second and shredded it...
Would like to find some piece that I can cut-to-fit.
Thanks!
I fished a very shallow Canal the other night with trilling motor. On coming out I lowered the motor started it up and slowly made my way out. When I got in deeper water I went to get up on plane and something wasn't right. So I stopped it raised the motor and pulled somebody's 3 feet of rope...
Saw this at a boat show. Need one for a new minn kota edge. Just the lower bracket adapter. Can't find anything from minn kota. Needed for a bowrider without a lot of forward surface area. Appreciate the help! Thanks!
OK, here's the basics:
I bought my '99 Regal in 2011; I know the PO had pulled the engine at least once.
Pulled my 3.0 engine for the first time ever (bad harmonic balancer).
Replaced my gimbal bearing for the first time ever (15 year old boat; don't know if it was ever done).
I've pulled the...
This is the grease-able type of gimbal bearing that I'm putting in my SX M 1.97:
The question is, which way do the notches go--toward the engine, or the drive.
I know why they're there (to rotate the inner bearing for removal), but it seems
few people replace them that way any more, and you...
The previous owner chewed up the brass nut going into the carb...that means replacing the entire hard fuel line.
I now have to use a pipe wrench to get it off in order to pull the fuel line from the carb for maintenance.
I'd like to replace the fittings on the fuel pump and carb, and...
I knew my alternator was the source of some tiny squealing noise,
so I pulled it completely apart.
Not only is there rear bearing noise, the rotor was somehow contacting the stator, at one point in time,
and 1/3rd of it is "scored" and partially melted, but not down to the stator windings.
And...
Had to pull my entire '99 3.0 to replace a wobbly front dampener.
Got everything out; engine sitting on and strapped to some 2x6's in the garage.
I got my puller all set up....and started to turn the puller to get the dampener off.
Problem is...the crank spins. Dampeners not going anywhere...
I pulled my 3.0 today to replace a wobbling harmonic balancer.
(Guess those do go bad from time to time....)
Anyway, wanted to check my exhaust to see if I had the flapper or not. Heard they went away in '99.
I do have one, but it's 15% melted, still barely rotates on pivot pin, but is...
Re: Volvo Penta Raw Water Pump
In this order:
Impeller (one fin backwards because I was playing with it....they should all be same direction)
Pulley removed, and slip ring that needs to be pulled before driving out shaft from housing
Pulley setup (backing made of brass; they did bend with...
I bought this boat in 2011 and have changed impellers twice.
Neither were damaged; one was starting to show a few stress cracks, but no missing pieces.
Upon performing a rebuild of my entire water pump this weekend, I had to pull the pump and impeller.
To my surprise, I found 2/3 of the "lip"...

I think we're getting close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello All,
First, I have the VP SX drive, but I put OMC in the title because of some compatibility.
Don pointed out, correctly, that I may have a leaking seal on one of my trim cylinders.
Volvo sells that end seal alone for about $2, but I have read many posts about OMC making
a complete...
Hi,
First off, I have the pump inside the boat, with the motor on top of the
reservoir, and two hydraulic hoses. I'm having heck finding info on it from
the volvo site, as it's not listed under the motor nor the drive sections.
My interior trim pump seems to either be leaking from one of two...
So my old exhaust bellows were bad; the holes were on the sides of the bellows.
A lot of aftermarket bellows all show the holes on the sides. (Maybe just for pictures?)
Reading the VP service manual, it says to orient the bellows so the holes are up and down...oops, too late. Missed that. But...
