is this part replaceable ? when I got the boat I found it in two pieces in stuck in the prop...I've changed the waterpump in the lowerunit and the prop and it runs great...no overheating at all...figured out what it was the other day while glancing thru the manual. from the pictures I'm guessing...
the previous owner of my boat, 88' glasstream tempest152 120hp mercruiser/alpha1 shallacked the sparkle fiberglass....needless to say it's pealing and looking pretty crappy. Any way to strip it off without hurting the gelcoat ?
I've got a 88' 120hp 2.5 Mercruiser...the tag on the engine with the serial is a gonner....is the serial number stamped anywhere else on the engine ?<br /><br />[EDIT] Nevermind....I found it.
I've removed all the bolts and set screws and have it in forward...but the darn thing will not break free...if you lean on it you can see light through the seperation point but it will not come free....any sugguestions are greatly appreciated.<br /><br />KiLer
