The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
Water seeping through this hole in the transom. A friend said I should not put a plug in the hole, but while on the water if I walk to the back of the boat water will seep in. Is it normal for water to flow in?
Recently got engine running and put in the water, 50 yards out the overheat alarm sounded. Engine definately too hot. Replaced grungy thermostat/pressure valve. Rebuilt water pump/impeller. turned over on muffs in driveway and it appears to be the same. No water coming from exhaust holes in...
Had a drop or two of water out of a small crack in hull and when I investigated it appears to have been a previous repair. When I put pressure on area I saw more water trying to squeeze out. When I poked at the area it easily cracked open to what you see in the pictures. I have never repaired...
This is the last time I will ask for help with this for fear I am being annoying. I have a 1975 Johnson 50hp (50ESL75B) I have had problems since I changed impeller/housing. As of right now the shift lever will go all the way forward if I hold down the warm up lever, but as I pull it back to...
When I hold the warm up lever down I can shift all the way forward, but when I pull it back it stops just before neutral and cannot be moved any further. Motor is a 50ESL75B. Any help would be appreciated as I am not an outboard motor specialist.

Ok, one more question. Motor was stuck in reverse no matter what position shift handle was in. Was easy to move lever from Neutral to revers but a little hard to move to forward. Some said to put in neutral, take out the shift linkage screw, shift lever to reverse then reconnect shift...
After replcing the water pump sytem in this motor it seems to only be in reverse whether the shifter is in forward, neutral or reverse, what did I do and can it be fixed? I am new to boating and boat motors but I am trying hard to learn, any help would be appreciated.

Going to attempt to replace the impeller on a 1975 Johnson 50hp (50esl75b) and was told about four bolts which I see and a fifth one near the carburetor which I cannot locate. Can anyone help direct me to the exact location and maybe the size of the bolt that I need to remove?
I put my boat in the water for the first time after a friend gave it to me and I was told that that the impeller might need to be changed. How can you tell if the impeller is in fact not working properly?
