    Bad start to the season

Was having a trim problem on the STBD side so I had the marina take a look. Turns out the transom assembly is cracked on the STBD side. They noticed the Bravo 3 sticker on the PORT side was bubbled. Pulled it off and found the assembly corroded all the way through. Both engines have to be...

    300SE Leak Problem

Not a leak below the water line thankfully, but water getting into the cabin during rain. We are lucky to be in North Florida and had 70 deg F temps this weekend. We spent the weekend on the boat, but woke up Sunday to a Thunderstorm. We were sleeping in the mid-birth and noticed water coming...

    300SE Maual?

Anyone have a source for a manual for a 1999 300SE? I am mostly just interested in the electrical schematics. I have the manual for the 2002-2004 330SE which will help, but trying to find some specifics for our exact boat.

Mercruiser 5.7 with Bravo three having problems going into gear

When advancing the throttle forward it will not go into gear until I hit about 1500 RPM. Every now and then it doesn't go into gear at all and I have to come back to neutral. No issues in reverse. Any suggestions for what to look at would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Strange engine starting problem.

1999 Doral 300 with twin Merc 5.7 Bravo 3 and Kohler 6kw generator. If we run the generator for a couple of hours the engine compartment gets hot and the STBD engine will not start. Turn the key and get nothing. Engine acts like the throttle is not in neutral. PORT engine starts fine...

    300SE Wiring Diagram

Anyone have an idea where I can get the electrical/wiring diagram for a 1999 300SE? We have a couple of things that just don't make sense to us. 1) Even with all three battery switches in the off position, the AM/FM radio still gets power. Although it is just a small draw for the memory...

    Battery Isloator Question

Question about Battery Isloators. Below is a photo of the isolator. No branding on it, but it looks like it is designed for 2 alternators w/regulator feedback and three batteries. The strange part is as you can see only a single alternator is hooked up driving two batteries with no...

    Stern Anchor Suggestions

Since we are moving up from our 20' center console to our 30' Doral we are looking for ideas as to what people use for their stern anchors. In our case we will be backing up to the beach at an island in about 4 feet of water. We are on the lee side so there are no waves, just typically a 5-10...

    Bad Alternator?

We have been out just a couple of times so far in our 1999 300SE. Running both refrigerators and an AM/FM radio we only get a couple of hours before we get a low battery warning and have to fire up the generator. I have noticed since we go the boat that the STBD voltage is lower than PORT when...

Trim tabs stopped working - FIXED

Our trim tabs have stopped working on our 300SE. The motors run on both tabs, but the tabs don't move. I am thinking it might be fluid, but have not had a chance to look. Any other suggestions?

    Electrical Distribution Question

Anyone have an idea where Doral typically puts a distribution panel in the engine room. Spent our first night out on our 1999 300SE this weekend. Woke up in the morning and the STBD battery was dead (5Vdc). Generator was still running so did some trouble shooting and figured out we have a bad...

Purchasing 1999 300SE, sea test questions

We had our sea test and our survey yesterday. Boat ran very well except for a couple of observations. - At WOT the port and starboard engines were off by 350 RPM. Port 4400, Starboard 4750. Both are in spec for the Merc 5.7. Is this anything to be significantly worried about? - Port engine...
