    I need to replace the switch box to get my 1975 merc 850 running but I'm at a loss at which replacement would be best. The CDI switch boxes cost ~225 and have the ignition coil built in. I'm not sure how reliable such a cheap replacement would be and I'm curious to hear what others say about...

    1979 Glastron Carlson CVX-16...my first boat

    I really wasn't in the market for a boat though I wouldn't pass up a deal like this...$200 for boat and trailer. It's a 1979 Glastron Carlson CVX-16 (i think) with a 1975 Mercruiser 850. In it's current state, this boat is uglier than sin and will need A LOT of work to get back to lake worthy...
