    ok so if you read my other forums you,ll see that i am sure having problems one after the other, with my tower of power :( so after blowing my piston for the second time i open it up to find the connecting rod snapped off crank this time around and melted it to **** and still made it to the dock...

    was wondering if any one could explain how to time these motors? I'v got my motor apart for the second time this week. Keep bunning up my rings, could i be running it to lean or rich? another thing is it's so hard to start and after awhile of going it starts fine! i don;t understand TO TIME IT...

    was wondering if anyone can tell me what my max pressure should be on my motor and also does it mater on the gas and oil you use , should it be top of the line. i kinda think that why i melted a ring :confused:

    blown piston on a 1978 merc

    hi im a new boat owner of a 1980 glastron i have a 1978 115hp merc on her. my family and i went out on her and it was running good and then it just died right out no power what so ever. WHY, what did i do wrong am i not mixing it right or what PLEASE HELP:eek:
