    1989 175 hp rough cylinder wall

    Have an 89 175 HP--number one cylinder reading 30 lbs, rest over 90. I changed the head gasket and while in there I found a rough spot on the wall of cylinder #1. I sandded it very lightly with som fine sandpaper. It looks like liquid ran into the cylinder and got hot scaring the surface...

    89 175hp head gasket torque

    I have a 1989 175 hp evinrude that has 30- lbs compression on the #1 cylinder. I have purchased a new head gasket and manual and want to attempt to replace head gasket but not sure which order to untorque and retighten the head bolts. The manual doesn't have any pictures and I don't understand...

    1989 175HP Evinrude Low Compression

    I have a 1989 175 HP evinrude VRO Engine. Did compression check yesterday and one cylinder is reading 30 psi. All others are between 95 and 105. Do I need rings?? or should I pull the head or could a decarb help???
