    What a difference;

    Just got my new ADDA-top and started the install. Got rained out yesterday so I still need to fix the standoffs to the console but what a difference it makes in how the boat looks;

    EVA flooring installed

    Definitely not a “pro” job but a lot more comfortable to walk in and it adds to the looks of the boat. We will see how well it holds up over time m. Definitely shows dirt.

    Yamaha 150XLRY-2 Stroke...Buy the whole kit!!

    Just a heads up when you’re planning to change out your water pump impeller. Buy the entire kit to include the housing. Yamaha uses the plastic housing, btw. Dropped my LU to do an impeller change and found out the housing was melted on one side. I got very lucky this thing didn’t overheat last...

    Added Puck Lighting

    Stole the idea from YouTube. Amazon Submersible puck lights. I filled the back with epoxy because it wasn’t smooth, in order to use 3M double sided tape. Great way to add deck lighting on the cheap, btw. For $24.00 if they last through winter I’ve done well. Ignore the boat cover, lol. Lots of...

    EVA Foam Flooring

    So, I just ordered a roll of the gray teak with the black “grout”. Should be here this weekend or early next week. It’s the self-adhesive stuff so I’m guessing it’s pretty straight forward; cut it to fit. Has anyone tried the stuff? Love to have SeaDeck but that’s quite out of the budget. Any...

    I’m gonna need a Dealers License - HNBD!!

    At this point the State of Florida is going to start watching me. But who cares, lol, cuz I got a new to me boat!! Two foot itis, turned into 3 foot itis. My new 2000 Angler 204 F; Bought it on Saturday and then listed my boat which sold on Sunday. Things don’t last around these parts. This was...

    Question about lower unit leakage

    Well, I’ve found a way to get the little broken tab out of the gear case; I have no choice but to pull the gears because I’ve got a leak coming out right at bearing carrier. Well, that’s where the new fluid is pooling anyway. I’ve got a manual and I think I’m capable of taking it out, but what...

    1995 Merc 90 hp - Helicoil tab broke off into LU

    As the title states, I didn't use needle nose pliers like I should've and the tab broke off and proceeded to fall into the lower drain plug hole. I'm going to try to flush it out, hoping I don't need to tear the whole thing apart. Those helicoils are stainless steel and about 1/4" long so...

    Nbd!!

    Happy new-to-me boat day! Well...technically it was yesterday but you all didn’t know that. I flipped the WAC and decided to get skinny for this next one. This is a keeper, because it could technically fit in the garage at 17’6”. But you never know. Bet you can’t guess the Make?

    Anybody know the length of a bolt ‘96 E/J 130

    The bolt that is obstructed by the trim tab when removing the lower unit is what I need to know the size of. When I took mine apart it was not there which may explain the excessive amount of water coming out. Sorry I forgot to take a pic but you know which one I’m talking about.

    Remove OMC Sea Drive Select Trim help

    So I got the wrong manual, I’ve ordered the correct one. I have the 1.6 bracket but got a manual for a 2.0. Anyway I’m hoping someone has done this before; I want to try to remove just the Select Tilt Trim unit from this 2nd bracket I own. I’ve got the four bolts off but I’m wondering how to get...

    ‘96 Evinrude 130 loose fuel line help

    Not sure if you can see in the 2nd pic where this line goes I tried to get a pic. But, as you can see in the first pic I’ve got a small fuel line loose in the front of the carbs. I’ve got the manual and for the life of me can’t figure out where this should attach. PO before was troubleshooting...

    OMC Sea Drive Tilt/Trim Issue

    When I got this project boat the TT on the SeaDrive was locked up. Finally got the pressure relief screw open, lots of air came out, freed up the unit and started the bleed process. In the midst, the new switch I wired, I heard a couple clicks then nothing. As I’m typing this, I’m wondering if...

    Has anyone tried the "import" (cheap) controls on Ebay?

    So I'm searching for a tilt trim switch because I bought one of the import versions but my controls are far too old for it to fit. The factory part is obsolete, so it's got me thinking about just moving the TT switch to the dash using a 3 prong On-Off-On toggle. Knowing that, I've always kinda...

    Help with a 130 on an OMC SeaDrive

    So, as you can see in the pics, the motor's original bracket is removed when it's installed on the SeaDrive Tilt unit. I'm assuming that's where I would've normally found a Model number. Where else can I look? The person I got the boat from wasn't the original owner and while the bracket is...

    Why do I keep doing this to myself? (hint: because I love a challenge)

    Ok, first and foremost, don't slaughter me because there' s no pics....yet. I didn't get the beast home until after dark last night. I picked her up just shy of 100 miles away, and yes, sight unseen. Let the record reflect the "she" in question is 1988 Sunbird SWL 200...i.e. Walkaround Cuddy...

    Yet another VRO question......sigh

    So, long story short, just picked up my latest "project" and she's fitted with a 1988 'Rude 130. PO claims he couldn't keep it running and was noticing fuel leaking around the "fuel pump", which we, of course, know is the VRO system. Granted, I just lugged this beast home last night in the...

    Would changing pitch make a difference?

    So, after all these years of owning boats, I'm finally publicly admitting I've never been very "prop educated". I mean, I've always had props. Shoot, I've probably even bought one or two over the years, but usually just got whatever some guy told me to get (hey, at least I'm honest). Funny...

    Galvanic corrosion question(s);

    So, one of us (namely, me) needs to replace a couple of his bow rail fittings. They are all factory, read galvanized here, and are suffering from some mighty galvanic corrosion. They used stainless screws to secure the rail to the fitting and of course, they are pretty much stuck in place...
