    1980 evinrude 140hp starter noise

    If the engine fails to start, it makes an oohhgaaa - duck honking noise as it winds down. (Same noise my shop vac made after years of use and abuse) It seems like it would be a bearing, can the starter be lubricated? and if so how and where, and with what? or what else should I check????
