    are the throttle cable and gear cable the same for a '99 2 stroke ox66 225? Don't have boat near me and want to purchase before next trip. Boat. Want to do them both at same time and I can't find cables listed on parts list. I do know the length I need is 16'. Thanks

    Prop Switch

    Would a three blade prop from a 71 4hp 4r71d fit a 63 5.5 hp cd 20? Would it be detrimental to motor? Would it increase speed?:confused:

    Seahorse 4r71d versus 63 5.5

    Had a 4r71d on my 11 1/2 ft alum boat last summer. This year I have the 5.5. Seemed to move better with the 4 hp. 4hp had 3 blade prop, 5.5 has two. Is it possible I don't have 5.5 tuned right or is 4 hp just a faster motor?:confused:

    Runs fine in neutral, but when I put in gear and rev up it bogs down. Any suggestions?

    Seahorse 5.5

    Got it up and running! Now having trouble getting it to idle for shift position. Some of the packing for high speed was in rough shape. Would this affect low speed? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Johnson 4r71d Carb troubles

    Motor was submerged last fall thanks to my idiot brother. I have already replaced the ignition system and got motor running. When I take off choke it stalls. I reset the high and low speed needle valves to what service manual reccomended. Does anyone have any suggestion or advise?

    Just a quick note to say thanks to iboats for this website. A special thanks to those who offered help with my projects, a 1971 4hp and a 1963 5.5 hp. I have been running the 4 hp all summer, it rocks! I am about to leave for shore with the 5.5, and as excited as a kid on christmas morning!:cool:

    seahorse cd2o 5.5hp flyweel

    Trying to put flywheel back on but it won't make complete rotation. Seems like it is getting hung up on the coils underneath. Do i have to have coils in a certain position in relationship with the shaft in order for the flywheel to be installed properly? :eek:
