    Power steering leak

1988 bravo 1. Merc 7.4 Power steering has a fluid leak on the actuator, not near or on the lines. Must be a seal or somthing. Are these things usually repairable with a kit or somthing or do people usually just replace it? Seen some on ebay from $75 used to $290 new. Nathan

Both bearings failed in one of my break drums last weekend. The outer bearing is a no brainer, but the inner one wont come right out, there is some sort of ring (see pic) that is preventing me from pulling the old bearing out. Is this pressed in there? What is the procedure here for getting the...

    Mercruiser 7.4 intake manifold swap?

I'v got two mercruiser 7.4L motors in my boat. The intake manifolds are looking pretty rough on the outside. I also happen to have two GM 6269318 aluminum intake manifolds (with marine waterjackets, rectangular ports) never been used. It is a 454 / 502 part. Would these high rise aluminum...

Mercruiser big block V8 cooling question

So with the stock raw water cooling system on the big block v8's, the exhaust elbows are cooled by the cool water from the front of the thermostat housing, but the manifolds get water from the already warmed water from the block/thermostat. The manifolds would run hot anyway being closer to the...

    Raw water pickup problem

When i put my boat on the trailer last, right before i shut it down i checked to see how the water was flowing out of my through hull exhaust, which it was normally. However, when i got home and hooked up the ear muffs to flush the motor, it wouldn't run any water through the motor.... Took a...

My boat has thru hull exhaust, with the block off plate on the transom (Mercruiser 454). It has started leaking at the bottom of the plate pretty badly on the inside, on the outside of the boat that would corralate to the two holes on the bottom gimbal ring, and the bigger exhaust hole is...
