    1960 Johnson QD 21 10 hp. retaining ring orientation

    Pulled the armature plate and replaced coils, wires, etc...now am mounting it back and am wondering if the retaining ring that the plate mounts to has any particular orientation? It has a slot in it and I didn't notice if it was oriented to the f/w key or not? Does it need to be?....Thanks

    Pressure Tank Gasket and Float
