The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
At first I was wondering what your doing with the railing, then I saw the chair.
I like the idea!
It looks like a nice place to hang out and fish.
I will say that after spending some time on the water again, just hanging out on the boat, some asshat will ignore the no wake and get it rocking...
I would probably do it if i had the space right now. :ROFLMAO:
Assuming it was a good hull and trailer, I see a possible flip.
if it needed an engine and outdrive, then i dnk.
WOW also sent me a little booklet with images and numbers of their other products.
One that caught my eye was a floating dock/platform.
I saw one of the big cruisers had those foam floating pads, they used that to cross from the water to the beach.
it seemed like a great idea.
The WOW floating...
I tried a few times, I can't upload an image of the toys.
Anyways, moving onto the next subject.
Last weekend I finally did some beaching with the islander.
Pulling into the boat camping cove at the local lake, I followed suit with the big cabin cruisers, dropped anchor in the front and backed...
I have been doing my best to enjoy the boat as much as possible, I missed a weekend because the wife felt she was too sunburnt from the weekend before that.
Last weekend we went out with another group, their little Glasser had the fun stuff like a tube and a wake board.
I have been thinking...
I also did some anchoring and got to try out the swim platform a few times.
That's the first time I have ever done that on a boat.
I'm really glad I went with the swim ladder that had extra steps vs a basic 2 or 3 step ladders.
It made it much easier to deal with.
I really like it...
I had a nice long weekend with the Islander (Thursday - Sunday)
The Faux teak is showing a little sunburn and it shrunk from sitting in the 100+ degree heat, but it still looks pretty decent overall.
The water at this lake is super clear and blue.
13ft cable is what I used when I converted my Jetstar to a Teleflex rotary.
It was perfect for the 65hp merc I dropped on it.
That same boat ran a 20hp merc when I bought it, alone I could get onto a plane, but that was about it.
It worked fine overall.
the 65hp was a bit heavy in the back...
Also it has been over 100F the last few days.
I let the boat sit outside with the cover off for a solid day before the adventure.
The Faux teak finally started doing some shrinking?!
more than I thought it would for sure.
One side almost looks like it's sun burnt a little.
Oh...
Splashed over the weekend.
The outing went very well, I think the water in the oil has stopped and it's just working the remaining bit out.
Ran it several hours on the lake near me, did some trolling with the little yamaha 9.9 kicker while I let the engine cool off (heat cycles)..
I found...
I'm also curious if your 87 has the screens on the side windows.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that, but my other cuddy is a 63. ;)
I also have some industrial Velcro on the front vent hatch, I'm thinking there should be a screen that Velcro's in place.
It's on my to-do list to make a new one.
New prop ordered the other day.
I confirmed the other day that the props this thing has currently are both high five.
23 pitch and a 17 pitch.
I ordered a 3 bladed 4 1/2 inch with a 19 pitch off of amazon to try out.
From the reviews, it's a nice combo with the 4.3 MerCruiser and towing tubes...
at least it's easier than it was, back in the day we had to have our images hosted and then post them.
I wish the software would take a direct copy paste from the windows clipping tool, but it's still pretty easy.
Now remembering to take pictures is another story.
I had my phone out and...
Boat splashed on the 4th!
I meant to get pictures of it in the water, but there was just too much going on.
The boat ramp only had a single tiny dock coming out from the ramp, and a huge line waiting for me.
Weird configuration this year...
I bought a season pass to all of the local docks at...
A little more done on the boat last night, I finally took a picture of it.
Battery covers are installed, and I got the lower trim pannels covered and installed.
I'm not 100% sure that they are in the correct position since I had issues lining up the holes, but it's good enough for now.
I also changed the distributor cap and rotor with an OEM mercury set before doing the timing.
I found the PO had put on an aftermarket cap and rotor, with no markings to indicate the brand.
It seemed to run fine, but the rotor had a ton of slop on the distributor shaft.
seemed like it would...
Well, the station I went to had pure gas for $3.80.
so that makes it a little over $200 bucks to fill.
I went with a quick 20 gallons to ensure everything checks out before I go with a full tank.
And last night I stuffed about 4 of these GM cooling system sealing tablets into the block...
And hopefully I have some time later today or tomorrow.
I need to take the boat down to the gas station to get it filled up with some pure gas.
I'm not sure what the current prices are, but a quick internet search suggests $3.50 a gallon.
times that by 52 gallons = $182!
But that...
Over the weekend, we got her back together.
I still have some rear trim pannels that need to be wrapped with vinyl, and I need to flow some epoxy into the rear seat mounts.
then get them wrapped with fresh vinyl.
but this is good enough to start the engine break-in and to verify that the intake...
