    Newbie looking for advice

I would consider a bowrider at least 22 ft. You're not mechanically inclined so an outboard is a better choice. Pontoons are nice but often don't come with a trailer, which means renting a slip or buying the trailer. Off season you'll need to have a marina pull it & store it.

    Another winterization question

Agreed. But I'm not too sure about the RV antifreeze, I never used it just the automotive.

    Another winterization question

All I know is that I winterized my engine all those years using AF & never had a problem.

    Another winterization question

I never did. Lol. I drained & filled my 3.0 Cobra with AF every fall & in over 20 years never had an issue with freeze up or corrosion. I live in snow country & wind chill temps at night can drop to -25 or even lower.

Need gas cap for 1994 Larson SEI 174

I bought a locking one I think right here on iboats for my Starcraft a few years ago. What model Starcraft is that? She's sharp! Mine was a Medalist, '87- 19 ftr.

    OMC 350

Sounds like a hole in the water. Before you even think about a repower make sure the transom, stringers, etc isn't rotted. You have a boat that is almost 40 years old.

    '84 Aquasport osprey 19.5' - Good boat?

Anyone who finds a boat built in the 80's that isn't full of rot should go play Powerball.

    Stickies on Winterizing 3.0 cobra

I fogged my engine before layup because I live in snow country. I would start the engine off muffs, bring it up to operating temp, & spray fogging oil into the carb until it stalls. I also pulled the plugs & sprayed a couple ounces of fogging oil into the plug hole, then pulled the coil wire so...

what are these two holes in bilge area?

Never leave a boat uncovered in a slip. Ever. Sh*t happens & it will during the week when you're at work or out of town.

    Stickies on Winterizing 3.0 cobra

If you don't want to go thru that again then stay away from "set it & forget it" scams. There are no shortcuts to proper winterization. Follow the steps that Lou outlined & you'll be fine.

    Stickies on Winterizing 3.0 cobra

I used pre mix AF available at any auto parts store or you can mix your own but makes sure it's at least 50/50 that will protect your engine down to -25 or so. Fog the engine until it stalls, then drain the block & manifold. Don't leave any standing water in the bilge.

    1991 Sunbird Corsica 175 tarp/cover

Unless you bring your boat to a canvas shop you're more then likely have to go with a generic cover.

    Bayliner

Judging just by the numerous holes in that transom, you'll be replacing it.

    siphoning fuel from gas tank

As long as you ran the engine for a few minutes after adding Stabil you should be fine, imho.

    1988 OMC Cobra 3.0L engine revs/slipping

Look in the bilge for black dust which is another sign that the coupler grenaded.

Rain water came in through cover

Grab a shop vac & vacuum the carpets. Open the engine cover to help dry out the bilge. As far as rot is concerned one incident isn't going to rot your boat. Don't sweat it but get that carpet as dry as you can & mother nature will take care of the rest. Store your boat with the bow up & the plug...

    Winterizing

I filled my block & manifold with 50/50 antifreeze mix as cheap insurance. Come spring when I started the boat off muffs the antifreeze as a bonus would help to cut down on the local nuisance gray squirrel population. Just kidding.
