I pulled lower unit, replaced impeller and still have low water psi --- pulled lower again, used water hose to spray up water tube, no pressure from telltale just slight pee---would pulling the water jacket let me see anything, not sure what is behind mass of metal? Johnson 175 (1990)
Johnson 175----on the hose, is it normal for water to exit from above lower unit where exhaust housing attaches to motor bracket. There is a cover with 4 bolts on both sides of motor that has a rubber bushing in it--water is exiting forward of that location---normal?<br /><br />------------------
Is the water pressure directly related to the impeller?---Gauge ok---telltale ok but not real forceful. Engine not overheating, however I have lost some top end speed.
1990 johnson 175, 18' stratos, 13.25 x 25, 5200 WOT, 54 mph, engine bogs trying to get out of the hole, also has jack plate. Have tried different heights, only helps with top end, can hit 60 mph with increase of about 1"
I have a stratos bass boat and the keel of the boat steps up about a foot before the transom---do I set the cavitation plate to the true keel or at the transom?
I currently run a 13 1/4 x 25, what will occur if I drop to 14 x 21. Should I stay at Diameter or increase. I am wanting to get more low end power I do not need top speed, but don't want to give it all up!
Bought used boat that had something clear painted over fiberglass to make look new, it is peeling like dead skin and yellowing---how can I remove without damage to fiberglass?
Just received motor back from shop, new powerhead, placed on water hose and noticed the cooling water was intermittent. Impeller was replaced while at shop. Removed hose from block and water came out w/ good volume, hose ok, what type pressure should I expect from here. (1990 johnson 175 gt)
