    I was cleaning the driveshaft of my 50th anniversary Johnson 1972 two hp 1 cylinder no gears motor. It is all pitted around where the keyway goes. It has been getting water in the lower gearcase. I put new oil seals and everything else. I hope I am wrong.

    Those with the 2 hp Johnson, did your steel gas can get rusty? I have that problem and tried 3 different tank liners and none of them worked for more than 6 months.     Rewind Starter 15hp evinrude 1976

    I recently purchased a new spring for the rewind starter on my 1976 15hp Evinrude. I managed to get it in the housing and it worked for a few pulls. But now the twisted coil end that goes into the slot in the housing keeps coming out of the slot. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Armiture plate cam on 6h johnson 1976

    The armiture plate cam has too much play in it. I goes past where cam meets the plate. The throttle control link goes too far out and touches the motor cover and gets hung up. What do I do to fix this? In other words the full speed is good but the slow speed goes too far back.

    Recoil Spring Broken evinrude 1976 hp15

    My recoil spring broke at the point where it bends to fit into the starter pulley. I have tried to re-bend the coil with pliers and vice grips but it breaks. Is there a way to bend it or do I have to pay $35 for the rewind spring? I have more time than money.

    My motor sticks in one spot when I turn the flywheel. I just cleaned dirt out of flexplate and put back together. I did not move anything so I could not mess up settings.

    I recently cleaned the carburetor on my Evinrude 15 hp 1976. When I was finished I still had this part. I have looked at the parts list and the service manual but I cant find this part listed. Does anyone have an idea if it is a part for the carburetor? It has a small hole through it.
