    Can I mod a 1986 6hp up to a 8hp.<br />I have been told they use the same powerhead and by changing the reed valve and carby I can boost the hp's?<br />Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Johnson 6hp choke for full power

    gelcoat blistering

    Johnson 9.5 hp ...couldn't pull itself off !!!

    I have a 73 9.5hp that just can't seem to pull itself out of the water. Carb has been cleaned, new points, times and new plugs. Seams to get slower everytime I take it out. I use a leadfree high octane fuel mixed at 50:1
