    On my johnson 1973 135 hp the coils heated up due to a bad rectifier and they swelled up and were destroyed. I looked at my stator and I noticed that the coils are only held on by a spring clip. So then i asked around and no one only sold the coils, they said i had to buy a new stator. ya...
