    How hard is it to strip an 88 horse 1987 v4 evinrude motor down to the power head. how heavy are they?? one option i've found is shipping the power head off for a complete remanufacture. just trying to see how big of a job it will be.<br /><br />thanks<br /><br />Mike

    Rebuild or buy newer

    I have a evinrude 88 horse v-4 I believe it's a 1987 (that's when the boat was built) it has 110lbs in two cylinders and 105 lbs in one and 25 lbs in the last cylinder. I've been told this is a great motor and should last 10+ years with a rebuilt power head.<br /><br />If I do go with a newer...
